Owner, Elyn Messner, began her love of making old things look new years ago having painted her way through college. Her parents managed apartment buildings and whenever she needed a little extra cash, she would paint an apartment. Her dad used to stop in to check on her from time to time and would offer up words of encouragement and advice. One such nugget of wisdom he shared was to trust the correct brush for the appropriate application. As a result, instead of cramming any old brush into the paint and slopping it on a wall, Elyn learned to appreciate the nuances of a trim brush, the nap of a roller, and how to use a brush's features to her advantage. From that point on, painting has been her Zen. “People think I’m crazy,” she says, “but I really do enjoy a creative process that makes plain things pop. Are you tired of staring at those honey oak cabinets? Are you hungry for a little texture and dimension on those big, bare walls?
